I'm COO, so that means I'm responsible for amplifying the impact of Startmate's team and community (which is pretty cool!)! Practically, this means I'm working on engagement and infrastructure, streamlining systems and breaking down silos to build a cohesive internal community.

Shakespeare has some crackers! E.g.

There is a tide in the affairs of men
Which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune;
Omitted, all the voyage of their life
Is bound in shallows and in miseries.
On such a full sea are we now afloat,

Or lose our ventures.

Also, and slightly less profoundly but genuinely these are words to live by - 'win the morning win the day' (NB Shakespeare did not say this as far as I am aware)

Not possible to say a favourite, however I think Lincoln in the Bardo (George Saunders) is one of the best books ever written. As with all good fiction, to truly engage with it you need to set your normal way of thinking aside, be comfortable dwelling in enormous amounts of ambiguity and, as Saunders says, 'bring forward the most expansive part of yourself'. Which I think is a pretty good way to truly engage in life as well!
